drawn letters, pattern

These were the first pieces of homework I had assigned to me in this class. Both turned out fine. My craft when it comes to goauche is passable and my patterns had some success: the uppermost pattern shown hides the letterform successfully I feel.
The patterns were exciting to make, but the way of working I find to be somewhat unfulfilling. I think it’s just that vector graphics feel sterile to me(?). This is something that has been an obstacle several times in my semester studying graphic design. Software rarely feels good to use. Intimacy with a computer is rare and vectors are too disparate from myself maybe.
